Farmer Spotlight: Brian Miller

Location: Spiceland, Indiana
Name of Producer: Brian Miller
Name of Operation: Miller Farms
Carbon Sequestration Practices: No Till, Cover Crops

Brian farmed with his father and now farms together with his son in central eastern Indiana. Due to growing concerns around erosion and soil health, Brian chose to pursue regenerative ag practices to preserve his farm for future generations. He joined the Agoro Carbon program in 2021 after discovering his operation management and land goals meshed well with our mission to sequester soil carbon. Brian is passionate about trying diverse cover crop mixes and experimenting with new species to discover new benefits, as well as looking for alternative cash crops to corn, soybeans, and wheat.

“No one‘s going to keep doing something if they’re not successful and Agoro Carbon wants you to be successful. What benefits us on the farm also benefits everyone else in this environment.”
– Brian Miller, Indiana Farmer

As the support agronomist for Miller Farms, working with producers like Brian is why I am passionate about my job. His ideas and his willingness to try something new are exciting. We farm in similar ways and I enjoy how he thinks outside the box.
